A correction that sets a reference line for a hairline of differing height or shape on each side, then redesigns it so the two sides match.
The first thing asymmetry correction decides is which side to treat as the reference. Matching the lower side raises the graft count; matching the higher one makes the forehead look wider.
No face is perfectly symmetric to begin with. Squaring the hairline off with a ruler can make the asymmetry of the face itself more visible instead. So we set the reference line while looking at the difference in eyebrow and eye height too.
MOLIV draws the reference line on a front-facing photograph so the difference between the two sides is visible, and then decides with you how far to close it.

Can the two sides be made perfectly symmetric?
Looking at the hairline alone, they can be brought a long way toward each other. But where the face itself is asymmetric, perfect symmetry can look less natural, so we recommend closing the gap to the point that suits the face.
Is transplanting one side enough?
Sometimes only the deficient side is transplanted, and sometimes a new reference line is set and both sides are addressed together. It depends on how far apart they are.
I think one side has thinned more because of hair loss.
If active hair loss is the cause, correction alone can let the asymmetry return. We will assess the hair loss first, then decide the order.
How does recovery progress?
Mild swelling may appear for the first 2–3 days, and scabs fall away naturally over 7–14 days. Transplanted hairs shed temporarily between weeks 2 and 8, new growth begins around months 3–4, and the result matures over 6–12 months. The head doctor reviews your progress together at each follow-up visit.
What graft survival rate can I expect?
It varies with scalp condition and the treated area, but through a process designed to minimize follicle damage from extraction to placement, you can generally expect a graft survival rate of 95% or higher.
When can I wash my hair?
Gentle washing usually starts on day 3–4 following the method we guide you through, and from about a week on you can wash as usual. We help you with the first wash in person when you visit.
